When people are contemplating a holiday home purchase at Coastal Kippford, my aim is to help them every step of the way, said Pam Slater, Sales & Marketing Manager.
Each day generally starts with responding to emails and phone calls from customers considering a holiday home purchase who want to arrange viewings of our caravans and lodges. It’s then time for a browse of Facebook to keep up to date with the latest news and events. Any posts that I think will be of interest to our Facebook followers will be shared on our Facebook page. Posts are often related to upcoming events so anyone staying at the Park can see what’s on in the area – there’s always something to do in Dumfries and Galloway for all ages, no matter what the weather brings! We also like to share photographs of the area and updates on what’s happening at the Park – new pitch developments, etc. We’ve started running competitions to win a free stay at the Park so it’s worth liking and following our page!
If it’s a nice sunny day (we’ve had many recently!) then it’s off out on the Park to take some photographs of our caravans and lodges. I want to give anyone thinking about a holiday home purchase a real feel for the park and the properties we have. I’ll also try and get a few shots of the groundsmen hard at work, whether they are grass cutting or building decks for new units. It’s common when I’m out on Park to see our red squirrels playing or foraging for nuts but I’m not always quick enough with my camera!
Back in the office, the photographs are edited and uploaded to our website. The website is updated frequently with new rental properties and new/used caravans and lodges for sale – it also has lots of other useful information such as a local area guide. If you’re looking to rent a holiday home at the Park you can now check availability, prices and book direct via our website.
A typical day also brings with it prospective buyers who are often passing by and pop in for a look around. Anyone who has dealt with the Park before knows we don’t do ‘hard sales’, so no one will be pressured into a holiday home purchase. It’s very informal here and usually involves a chat over coffee (and shortbread!) to find out what the customer is looking for and whether the Park is the right choice for them. We won’t sell you something we don’t think is right for you.
We find most customers have done some research before contacting the Park and have picked our Park for specific reasons – the peace and tranquility, the location, because we’re open all year, we’re pet friendly… Once it’s clear the Park is the perfect holiday destination for you, it’s then all about finding the right pitch and holiday home on Park – within budget of course. Once we’ve achieved that, it’s simply a matter of sorting out the paperwork and deposit – a smooth and quick process. We’ve put a little guide together on our website for first time buyers which explains a bit more about the process but as always I would be happy to answer any questions.
What then? Well my day could involve giving a current Owner a valuation of their holiday home as they may be considering upgrading to a newer model. If a customer is looking for a particular model which isn’t on Park, then I’ll contact the manufacturer to order it in especially for them.
I hope this gives you a quick glimpse into a day in the life of the Sales & Marketing Manager at Coastal Kippford. We’re always looking for constructive feedback so if there’s anything you think we could do to improve either our website or Facebook page please do get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
